Pickup promise

We pack live worms close to pickup so they leave our farm in moist bedding with airflow and simple care instructions.

Why bedding is included

The bedding is part of the product.

A starter culture works better when it includes habitat. The bedding helps carry beneficial microbes, holds moisture, cushions the worms, and gives beginners a safer start than a cup of loose worms.

💧
Moisture buffer
Bedding helps the container stay damp without becoming a puddle.
🌬️
Air pockets
Loose bedding gives worms oxygen and helps prevent stress.
🌱
Active habitat
Starter material may include castings, juveniles, cocoons, and decomposer microbes.

Care after pickup

Keep the worms comfortable.

Add the starter cup to a bin with damp shredded cardboard, leaves, or other bedding. Feed lightly at first and wait until food begins disappearing before adding more.

🌤️Keep coolNever leave live worms in a hot car, direct sun, or greenhouse heat.
💧Moist, not wetBedding should feel like a wrung-out sponge, not dripping.
🥬Feed lightlySmall food pockets work better than large piles of scraps.
📦Add beddingShredded cardboard, paper, and leaves help prevent odors.

Simple guidance

What to expect when you get home.

Worms may hide in the bedding after pickup. That is normal. Give them a quiet, cool place and avoid heavy feeding during the first few days.

  • Transfer to prepared bedding as soon as practical.
  • Keep containers ventilated and shaded.
  • Do not rinse worms or separate every worm from the bedding.
  • Use the included habitat material to seed the new bin.
